Our client is now seeking a Major Events Manager on a hybrid working basis. You'll be expected to be at our clients offices or on site at least 2 days per week. This is an initial 3-month contract which could be extended further. Some weekend work will be expected but my client can offer time off in lieu.
The main purpose of the role is to produce major outdoor events as part of an ambitious new programme, which is set to transform the city's attractiveness, and to build on its reputation as a popular tourist destination. You'll be required to deliver a high-quality and popular visitor experience that appeals to a diverse range of audiences.
Principal responsibilities:
* Undertake planning, coordination, production and stakeholder-relations duties for the major events programme.
* Manage internal approval processes
* Coordinate production logistics
* Attend all events designated to the role and assume an event/stage manager function as appropriate, responding to any issues as they arise during the event and ensuring that the highest standards of production and visitor experience are maintained at all times.
* Act as the main point of contact for artists, event producers, production teams, agencies, suppliers and contractors regarding all event specifications and requirements.
Key skills/experience required:
* Budget management/relationship management experience
* Previous experience in a similar role (Senior Events Manager for example)
* Fully able to manage multiple priorities at one time, think on your feet/problem solve
* Have an interest in the culture & creative industries
* Experience of on-boarding audiences at events and good customer management skills
* Experience of co-ordinating the input of partners and suppliers
* Educated to degree level (or with equivalent experience) in an appropriate field relating to events management, culture or a related discipline (preferable)
