Maintenance Engineer - Oxford

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team in Oxford. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance of plant, equipment, and building services across our client's sites.

About the Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in identifying and managing risks associated with equipment on site, including updating drawings and helping to identify critical spares.
Supporting the maintenance team in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment by responding to maintenance requests.
Conducting fault finding on a variety of machinery, including basic troubleshooting of heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
Providing support to the maintenance department with electrical and mechanical tasks.
Assisting in writing and following risk assessments to ensure safe and accurate completion of tasks.
Working on three-phase systems with voltages up to 440V and performing maintenance on motors, gearboxes, valves, and other equipment.
Utilizing mobile devices to accurately log and complete tasks from the CAFM maintenance system.
Collaborating with onsite services to address building services-related issues.
Being available for overtime, including nights and weekends, as required.
Performing ad-hoc duties as needed.Requirements:

Recognized or time-served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
Some experience in manufacturing maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Basic electrical qualifications, such as City and Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 or equivalent, are a plus.
Mechanical knowledge to an acceptable standard, ideally with City and Guilds Mechanical qualifications.
Good multi-skilled ability and willingness to learn.
Familiarity with 3-phase motors, drives, and inverters is beneficial.
Basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.
Ability to assist in fault finding and diagnosing PLC systems is a plus.
NVQ qualifications to Level 2 in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines are advantageous.
Willingness to learn about supervising contractors and understanding risk and method statements.What We Offer:
