Role Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance to join our care home team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the home is well maintained, safe, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors.

You will play an important role in maintaining the building, equipment, and outdoor areas, ensuring the environment meets health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities:

· Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the care home.

· Ensure the building, fixtures, fittings, and equipment are maintained to a high standard.

· Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or issues.

· Maintain the home’s grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas.

· Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs where required.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and fire safety procedures.

· Support the maintenance of fire safety systems, alarms, and emergency lighting.

· Maintain records of maintenance work and safety checks.

· Liaise with external contractors when necessary.

· Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and stored securely.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management.

What we are looking for:

Essential

* Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or facilities role

* Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance

* Good understanding of health and safety procedures

* Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively

* Good problem-solving skills

Desirable

* Experience working in a care home, healthcare, or hospitality environment

* Knowledge of fire safety checks and building compliance

* Basic IT skills for record keeping
