Maintenance Technician

Description:

Proactive Personnel are currently working in partnership with a business based in Ilkeston to recruit an electrical maintenance technician to join their small maintenance team.

You will be providing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs and the installation of new plant and equipment.

Duties include but are not limited to;

* Ensure installation, inspection, maintenance and repair work is carried out to a high standard and within all statutory health, safety and environmental guidelines.

* Maintain equipment to manufacturer’s/site standards in order to provide cost effective maintenance on site and keep all processes operational and efficient and reduce downtime.

* Carry out repairs/adjustments as required during routine and Planned Preventative Maintenance.

* Identify the cause of plant or equipment failure.

* Assist in site inspection/testing activities.

* Work flexibly in all required areas of the site and in close cooperation with other members of the maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias. The skills & knowledge required are detailed below;

* PLCs (Siemens control systems)

* Single & 3 Phase systems

* Industrial installations

* Inverters – single and 3 phase

* Safety circuits including light curtains

* Industrial sensors including inductive, capacitive and through beam sensors

* Knowledge of control circuits including fault finding.

* Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and plant equipment.

Hours of work are 9 hours per day with a 1hr paid break, Mon-Fri on the below 4 week pattern;

* 1 week – 06.00 to 16.00 hrs

* 3 week – 08.00 to 18.00 hrs

* Saturday morning work will be required on a rota basis (currently one in four).
