Maintenance Supervisor – Based Poole

My client is a successful engineering company seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor to manage a team of maintenance technicians on the night shift.

The successful candidate will be a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor or Team Leader and be either a time served maintenance engineer OR hold a formal recognised apprenticeship.

Working alongside the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical maintenance for the site, working to budgets, health, and safety procedures to ensure the continued, safe operation of the plant. 70% of this role is supervising and 30% will be “hands on”.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide mechanical supervision, guidance, and support to the maintenance team to achieve the companies’ goals and ensure continued and uninterrupted production schedules.

Night Shift – Sunday to Thursday – 10pm to 6am (5 x 8-hour shift)

Salary £53,800 includes monthly production bonus, uncapped overtime available

Duties

* You will be responsible for co-ordinating and assisting in the daily management of all mechanical staff and services on site.

* Assist the manager in the management and training of mechanical maintenance and ancillary staff

* Supervise and co-ordinate specific maintenance contractors, particularly those that are conducting mechanical work

* Ensure that all equipment is in safe working order and capable of meeting the business and departmental targets as well as meeting all required current legislation.

* Maintain and improve the safety and reliability of plant & production equipment by regular review of departmental documents relating to equipment and personnel.

* Promote apprentice training through instruction and liaison with training providers and apprentice assessors.

* Identify and introduce process efficiency improvements throughout the plant

* Drive forward analytical methods and techniques whilst continually improving planned and preventative maintenance procedures using modern techniques.

* Constantly review outstanding workload and plan best use of available internal or outsourced labour.

* Liaise with the storemen to ensure all stock is controlled working to best practice to ensure minimum whole of life costs for the plant and equipment.

* To assist the manager to recruit, interview and select new maintenance staff
