James Lewis Recruitment are currently assisting one of hospitality client’s in finding a Maintenance Shift Engineer to join their established team at their award-winning luxury 5-star hotel in Mayfair. As one of London’s oldest establishments it certainly offers unrivalled luxury in one of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods just a short walk from Buckingham Palace.

The hotel certainly falls into the bespoke boutique range with a combined 120 guest rooms and suites in a townhouse style. The hotel comes complete with a Michelin-starred restaurant and an intimate bar area.

As a Maintenance Shift Engineer your responsibilities will include:

* Retain the hotel’s fabric in excellent condition, ensuring the facilities, plant areas, operations and amenities are in full working order

* Perform preventative property maintenance which includes carpentry repair, carpeting, marble, tiling, grouting, painting and all other functions necessary to maintain the hotel at an optimum level

* Ensure constant functionality of all key utilities into the hotel (gas, water, electric)

* Complete maintenance for all equipment across kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, guest rooms, meeting rooms and public area spaces to ensure guest comfort & safety

* Conduct regular inspections, identified maintenance needs, and performed repairs to resolve issues promptly and maintain equipment functionality

* Respond to guest service requests and emergencies, addressing and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner

* Collaborated with cross-functional teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules, minimising disruptions to hotel operations

* Maintains high levels of health and safety in all aspects of work and repairs carried out

* Maintains very high standards around personal presentation and conduct

The shift pattern is comprised of a 40-hour working week spread over 7 days and will include some weekend work depending on the pattern for that week. Please note we are under strict instructions that we can only accept applications from candidates with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a 5-star hotel. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and maintain a positive, welcoming and courteous attitude at all times.
