Maintenance Operative

We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to join our care home team. Reporting to the Home Manager or Deputy Manager, you will help ensure our home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs throughout the home.
* Conduct routine building inspections and audits, ensuring any required actions are completed.
* Undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on admission and annually.
* Maintain the gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard, encouraging resident involvement where appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and safeguarding requirements.
* Safely store and use equipment, tools, and chemicals.
About You
* Previous building, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
* Understanding of facilities management and building maintenance.
* Experience within a social care setting is desirable.
* PAT Testing qualification, First Aid, and Property Maintenance qualifications are desirable.
* A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
