About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and reliability of our energy centres and district heating network across Kings Yard, Stratford and the Excel energy assets in London.

This is a key operational role, responsible for ensuring that the equipment and infrastructure supplying heating and energy to customers remain safe, reliable and efficient. You will lead planned preventative maintenance, coordinate reactive repairs and drive continuous improvements to reduce equipment failures, service disruption and maintenance costs.

You will combine strong technical knowledge with effective leadership, taking ownership of maintenance delivery, team performance, budgets and contractor management. You will also play a key role in identifying recurring faults, challenging maintenance decisions and ensuring that assets operate to the required safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

*

Maintenance Management: Plan, coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the energy centres and district heating network.

*

Asset Reliability: Improve equipment performance through condition monitoring, root cause and failure analysis, and proactive maintenance strategies.

*

Team Leadership: Lead and develop the maintenance function through the Lead Shift Engineer and Day Team Supervisor, ensuring effective resource planning and high standards of performance.

*

Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and maintenance procedures are implemented and followed, maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and site requirements.

*

Budget & Cost Control: Manage maintenance expenditure, support budget planning and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising safety or reliability.

*

Contractor & Supplier Management: Coordinate external contractors, monitor service delivery and hold suppliers accountable for quality, safety, cost and performance.

*

Performance Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on asset availability, breakdowns, maintenance costs and team performance.

*

Maintenance Systems: Use the Pirana maintenance management system to support maintenance planning, work order management, reporting and informed decision-making
