Maintenance Fitter

Role: Mechanical fitter
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
working hours: Monday - Friday (6:00AM - 16:00PM) We are seeking a time-served Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Fitter. This role is crucial in maintaining, testing, repairing, and cleaning machinery and equipment within our Concrete plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with MIG welding skills being a distinct advantage.

Day to Day of the role:

Carry out efficient and effective maintenance repair services for all on-site machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximised production.
Perform work as provided in Work Order format from the Maintenance Department.
Visually inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment as scheduled.
Operate welding equipment for general maintenance purposes.
Implement effective preventative maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to the business.
Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Health, Safety, and Quality procedures at all times.
Report any QHSE issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
Strong problem-solving skills with complex machinery.
Good knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Excellent Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness.
High level of integrity, proactive, self-motivated, resilient, and reliable.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to identify improvements to maximise time and minimise cost.
Ability to make good decisions in a pressured environment.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Good planning and organisational skills.
Professional conduct and a positive, "can do" attitude.
