Location: Glossop
Salary: £42,000 + Overtime at 1.5x

Are you a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer looking for a permanent opportunity where you can develop your skills and work with well-invested machinery?
We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing site in Glossop.
The site has invested heavily in its machinery and engineering capability, with ongoing opportunities for external training and development.
This would suit a mechanically biased or multi-skilled engineer who enjoys a hands-on role and has experience working with systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, steam or boilers.
The Role
As Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping site machinery and equipment operating effectively, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
Your duties will include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing
Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive repairs
Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues
Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Working with steam and boiler systems
Supporting machinery installation and improvement projects
Assisting with new machinery projects
The Candidate
We are looking for a practical, hands-on engineer with a strong mechanical background.
You should have:
Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer position
A recognised engineering qualification
Strong mechanical maintenance experience
Experience with hydraulics and/or pneumatics
Candidates from a wide range of manufacturing or industrial backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Shift Options
Days: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
Afternoon/Evening: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-00:00
Additional shift allowance of £36.78 per week.
Package
£42,000 basic salary
Overtime paid at 1.5x
24 days holiday + bank holidays
Additional shift allowance on afternoon/evening shift
