The Opportunity

I'm working with a well-established and rapidly growing food manufacturing business in Sheffield that is looking to add an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to its Engineering Team.

This is a hands-on maintenance position, responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

The role will involve a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, alongside the opportunity to support engineering projects and new equipment installations as the site continues to grow.

The business has doubled its turnover over the last two years, with further significant growth planned, creating continued investment in both the site and Engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging equipment

* Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns

* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults

* Carry out root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures

* Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime

* Complete corrective maintenance and ensure engineering work is completed to a high standard

* Record maintenance activity accurately using the site's ShireSystem CMMS

* Work closely with Production to resolve engineering issues and minimise disruption

* Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and engineering projects

* Maintain engineering standards and ensure work is completed in accordance with site Health & Safety requirements

* Support the maintenance and improvement of site utilities and general engineering infrastructure where required

What We're Looking For

* A time-served or suitably qualified Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

* Previous experience within food, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment

* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability

* Experience maintaining automated production and/or packaging machinery

* Ability to read electrical drawings and diagnose faults through control panels, sensors, motors, drives and associated equipment

* Experience using a CMMS system would be advantageous

What's on Offer?

* £48,000–£50,000 per annum

* Monday–Friday double-days shift pattern

* Permanent position within an established and growing food manufacturer

* Hands-on role with a good balance of planned and reactive maintenance

* Exposure to engineering projects, equipment installations and continuous improvement

* Ongoing investment in the site and Engineering function

* Training and development opportunities

* Genuine long-term progression as the business continues to grow
