We are working with an established and growing food manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK. The site operates a fast-paced production and packaging environment, with a strong focus on reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement across the engineering function.

As Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will report to the Reliability Manager and be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving a wide range of production and packaging equipment. Working a rotating shift pattern of 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 08:00-16:00 (Monday to Friday, no nights), you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support wider reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on manufacturing and packaging equipment

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery

Work collaboratively with Production, Quality and Operations teams, ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards

Skills & Qualifications of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

Apprentice trained (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent)

Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment

Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, including motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors and pneumatics

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics

Previous experience in food, FMCG or process manufacturing, PLC fault-finding and 18th Edition are all advantageous

Salary of £42,000 - £47,000 per annum, depending on experience

Rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday - no night shifts
