Description:

Mechanical Engineer - New Production Projects

£48,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | Milton Keynes | 4 on 4 off Days & Nights

If you enjoy projects, problem-solving and getting involved before production starts, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering career.

You'll join a business that genuinely invests in training, development and progression, with the opportunity to work on new production projects from installation through to commissioning and full production.

Rather than simply maintaining existing machinery, you'll be involved in bringing new equipment online, solving problems and improving reliability from day one.

The Package

£46,000 starting salary

£2,132 annual night shift allowance

Performance-related bonus

Company pension scheme

Personal health plan

Shopping and gym membership discounts

Company sick pay

Income protection plan

Life assurance, subject to length of service

Excellent training and development opportunities

Genuine opportunities for progression

Shift Pattern

4 on, 4 off rotating days and nights

06:00-18:00
18:00-06:00

Small variations may occur depending on operational requirements.

The Role

You'll play a key role in bringing new production equipment online and ensuring it performs reliably from day one.

Your responsibilities will include:

Installing and commissioning new machinery

Supporting equipment testing and start-up

Mechanical fault finding and problem solving

Working alongside specialist engineers and suppliers

Identifying improvements during commissioning

Supporting the transition from project phase into full production

Improving equipment reliability and performance

You'll gain exposure to new machinery, commissioning, projects and automation, alongside your core mechanical engineering responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

Mechanical engineering experience within manufacturing

Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills

Experience with production machinery and automated equipment

A proactive approach to problem solving

Good communication and teamwork skills

Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Additional qualifications such as electrical competency, IPAF or FLT licences would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Why Consider It?

The real attraction here is development.

You'll be involved in projects from an early stage, giving you the chance to understand new equipment, work with specialist suppliers and help shape how machinery performs once it enters production.

The company also has a strong focus on training and progression, making this a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to broaden their technical skills and build towards the next stage of their career.

If you're looking for a role where you can learn, work on projects and progress, rather than simply maintain the same equipment every shift, this is well worth considering.
