Maintenance Engineer Electrical & Mechanical

Location: Witham, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 11:30pm
Salary: From £35,000 depending on experience, plus weekend overtime available

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. Working independently and as part of a small engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs and continuous improvement activities across a wide range of production machinery.

This is a hands on role within a fast paced manufacturing environment where maintaining equipment reliability and minimising downtime is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide front line maintenance support to production operations
Carry out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and instrumentation faults
Assist with the dismantling, repair and reassembly of production machinery
Maintain machinery to achieve optimum production efficiency
Complete scheduled maintenance and continuous improvement activities
Support equipment upgrades and reliability improvements
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company proceduresSkills and Experience Required

Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing or production
Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding skills
Experience maintaining industrial production machinery
Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be highly advantageous
Understanding of instrumentation and industrial control systems would be beneficial
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementQualifications

One or more of the following would be advantageous:

Level 3 Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
City and Guilds 2382 or equivalent electrical qualificationAdditional Requirements

Full UK driving licence
