About This Role

Join a leading manufacturing business as a Maintenance Engineer, responsible for ensuring production machinery and site equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

You will work across planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdowns, carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding to minimise downtime and improve machine availability. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.

The role operates on a three-shift rotating pattern, Monday to Friday: 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm and 10pm–6am, rotating weekly. A minimum of one weekend in every six is also required, paid at the applicable overtime rate.

Job Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site machinery.

* Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs to minimise production downtime.

* Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.

* Identify the root causes of recurring breakdowns and implement permanent solutions.

* Ensure machinery complies with relevant Health & Safety legislation.

* Support continuous improvement activities across the plant.

* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.

* Complete maintenance work during planned plant shutdowns.

* Record completed work and spare parts used through SAP.

* Liaise with production to complete preventative maintenance during planned downtime.

* Work effectively as part of the wider Engineering team.

Experience Required

* Strong electrical fault-finding skills.

* Mechanical fault-finding experience.

* Ability to understand engineering drawings.

* Computer literate.

Desirable

* Siemens PLC fault-finding/familiarity.

* Hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding.

* ABB robotics experience.

* 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

* Fabrication, welding and grinding.

* Lifting and slinging experience.

* PAF 3a & 3b.

* SAP knowledge.

* COSHH and chemical awareness
