Role Overview:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment. You will work alongside a small team including a supervisor/engineering manager and two other engineers. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently at times.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance (PPMs)
Address and resolve main breakdowns typical in food factories (e.g., changing filters)
Work on drives/motors and manage the top-up of stores
Conduct visual inspections for faults, test mechanical parts, isolate problem areas, and take corrective action
Ensure smooth operation of equipment by replacing worn and defective parts
Required Skills and Experience:
50:50 TIG welding/machining (lathes)
Experience with conveyor belts, fill wrappers, metal detectors, and refrigeration/chillers
Basic knowledge of PLCs, 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
Apprenticeship qualification is acceptable
