Description:

Mechanical Engineer - New Production Projects
£39,500 - £48,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Milton Keynes 4 on 4 off Days & Nights
Some engineering roles involve keeping old machinery alive through sheer determination, caffeine, and occasional acts of mechanical wizardry.

This isn't one of them.

This opportunity puts you at the centre of a major manufacturing investment, working on the installation, commissioning, and optimisation of brand-new production lines. You'll be part of the team bringing cutting-edge equipment into operation, working closely with specialist engineers and suppliers to ensure everything performs exactly as it should.

If you enjoy projects, problem-solving, and getting involved before production starts, you'll struggle to find many opportunities like this.

The Package

Starting salary between £39,500 and £48,000
Includes £2,132 annual night shift allowance
Performance-related bonus
Company pension scheme
Personal health plan
Shopping and gym membership discounts
Company sick pay
Income protection plan
Life assurance (subject to length of service)

Shift Pattern

Continental shift pattern:

4 on, 4 off rotating days and nights

06:00 - 18:00
18:00 - 06:00(Small variations may occur depending on operational requirements.)

The Role

You'll play a key role in bringing new production equipment online and ensuring it performs reliably from day one.

Your responsibilities will include:

Installing and commissioning new machinery
Supporting equipment testing and start-up activities
Mechanical fault finding and problem solving
Working alongside specialist engineers and suppliers
Identifying improvements during commissioning phases
Supporting the transition from project phase into full production operation
Driving equipment reliability and performance improvements

What We're Looking For

Mechanical engineering experience within manufacturing
Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills
Experience working with production machinery and automated equipment
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous but isn't essentialAdditional qualifications such as electrical competency, IPAF, or FLT licences would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Why Join?

Opportunities to work on brand-new production lines don't come around often. Most engineers spend their careers inheriting equipment that has been modified, patched, and "temporarily fixed" since approximately 2007.

Here, you'll help build the operation from the beginning, gain valuable commissioning experience, and become a key part of a growing manufacturing site with genuine long-term career prospects.

For engineers who enjoy projects as much as maintenance, this is one worth paying attention to
