We are working with a leading UK food manufacturer, producing high volumes of bakery products for major retail and foodservice customers nationwide. The site is a fast-paced, high-volume food production facility with a strong focus on food safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days / 2 nights). You will support both planned and reactive maintenance across high-speed production and packaging equipment in a highly automated environment, playing a key role in maintaining uptime and product quality.

This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer from a food manufacturing, FMCG or other fast-paced production background, who enjoys hands-on fault finding, breakdown response and working within a structured, supportive engineering team with genuine opportunities for progression.

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across machinery and plant

Work on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, sensors, inverters and control panels

Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime

Support planned maintenance during scheduled downtime and quieter production periods

Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across site equipment

Work safely and in line with food manufacturing standards, collaborating closely with production teams

Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled)

Strong electrical fault-finding experience (PLC interrogation advantageous)

Solid mechanical maintenance experience

Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or another fast-paced production environment

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and as part of a shift-based team
