Job Description:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s production facility. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks. Utilising the Shires system, you will meticulously plan and document all engineering works on site.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct maintenance on machinery, fixtures, fittings, and buildings, including electrical systems.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
Collaborate with production and technical staff to identify areas for maintenance and engineering improvements.
Manage the ordering and organisation of plant/machinery items and spares.
Ensure thorough documentation control for all maintenance activities.
Execute all Planned Preventative Maintenance on schedule to company standards.
Collaborate closely with colleagues to swiftly resolve any operational issues.
Monitor machinery performance and proactively initiate improvement measures to minimise downtime.
Communicate safety issues, quality concerns, and machinery problems effectively.
Support production improvements, projects, and reconfigurations as needed.
Implement work in accordance with relevant business processes and quality systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Skills and Experience required.

Full mechanical/electrical engineering apprenticeship - essential
Possession of 18th or 17th Edition BS7671 certification- desirable
Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a factory environment.
Ability to prioritise engineering tasks based on production demands.
Understanding of manufacturing health & safety- essential
Haccp- desirable
Conduct maintenance activities in a safe and hygienic manner.
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and gas certification is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills across all levels.
Resilient and initiative-taking in problem-solving.
Analytical mindset with a focus on reducing business costs.
