Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Altera Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a leading organisation within the Energy from Waste sector to recruit an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician for a permanent position based in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for maintaining critical electrical systems across a modern industrial processing facility. The Maintenance Electrician will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability through planned preventative maintenance, rapid fault diagnosis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure maximum plant reliability and operational performance.

* Diagnose and repair faults on electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, switchgear, cabling and associated control systems.

* Support plant shutdowns, maintenance outages and improvement projects while working alongside operational teams and specialist contractors.

* Perform electrical isolations, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety and engineering excellence.

Candidate Requirements

* Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or hold an equivalent electrical engineering qualification.

* Previous experience working within an industrial maintenance environment such as Energy from Waste, manufacturing, utilities, heavy process or power generation.

* Strong electrical fault finding skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.

* Knowledge of industrial motors, control systems, electrical distribution equipment and installation practices.

* A proactive approach to health and safety with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and respond effectively to plant breakdowns.
