Maintenance Electrician

Boyd Recruitment are recruiting for a leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction company, who are looking to add an experienced Maintenance Electrician

Our client looking to recruit an electrician with control gear experience working with 440V/240V. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager,

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to fault find and repair breakdowns on Machines and plant equipment, i.e., drills, blaster, saws, conveyors, welding units and overhead cranes etc.

Carry out preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and in line with the maintenance plan and update files accordingly.

Adhere to all safety regulations, codes, and standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and implement safety measures to minimize the potential for electrical hazards.

Maintain records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs and equipment performance data.

Keep up to date with the latest electrical regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all maintenance activities.

Ensure safe systems of work are adhered to during all maintenance works, including COSHH assessments.

Collaborate with the team to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.

Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates, discuss maintenance plans, and address any concerns.

Identify opportunities for improving electrical performance, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

Report any issues to your line manager.

Lead by example and always promote safe working by working to procedures m following safe systems of work and wearing correct PPE / RPE as required.

Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience

Applicants must have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship or relevant Electrical Qualification.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.

Experience in working in control cabinets with invert drive, PLC modules, Servo drive motor controls.

The ability to juggle a varied and demanding workload.

Proficiency in electrical testing and diagnostic tools

The ability to work to strict and tight deadlines.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Good interpersonal skills.
