Description:
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance & Services Manager to join a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and efficiency of plant machinery and production equipment, combining hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance with proactive fault finding, planned maintenance and engineering improvements.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Manager with a strong background in a high-volume manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
* Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
* Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems, including Siemens and Allen-Bradley.
* Diagnose faults involving motor control circuits, VSDs, contactors, sensors and three-phase power systems.
* Maintain and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, chains, belts, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
* Identify and implement engineering modifications and improvements to enhance machinery performance, reliability and efficiency.
* Work closely with production teams and management to coordinate maintenance activities and planned work.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have significant hands-on experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment, ideally working with continuous-running plant and machinery.
You will need strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills, with the ability to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs.
Experience should include:
* Electro-mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
* PLC-controlled machinery.
* Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley systems.
* Variable speed drives and motor control systems.
* Three-phase electrical systems.
* Mechanical power transmission systems.
* Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Pumps, conveyors and production machinery.
* Planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Engineering improvements and machinery modifications.
Qualifications
A recognised engineering qualification is required, such as:
* HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
* City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship.
* Equivalent engineering qualification.
A valid UK driving licence and IPAF licence would be advantageous
