Key Responsibilities:

* Understand and work to detailed metric drawings, with standard drawing or geometric dimension tolerancing

* Skilled & experienced in the machining of parts/components using conventional manual machinery, including Colchester centre laths, Bridgeport turret mills, band & chop saws, pillar drills and metal finishing equipment.

* Working with standard raw materials include Acetal, Aluminium & Stainless-Steel. Machined parts must be produced to a high standard of tolerance & finish, moreover within an agreed time frame.

* Complete in-house paperwork to ensure traceability of raw materials and the logging of hours to manufacture individual parts.

* To support design changes and modifying parts/components appropriately

Qualifications:

* Time-served apprenticeship in machining or time served experience.

* City & Guilds, NVQ levels or ONC/HNC qualification in engineering

Skills:

* Ability to read technical drawings and work to tolerances using inspection equipment – micrometres, dial indicators & gauges etc.

* Good knowledge of machining methods, work holding and mechanical principles.

* CNC VMC (DMG VMC) setting & operating
