Pay Rate: £13.54 per hour + Shift Allowance (3-Shift Rotation)

About the Role

Stafforce is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client for an experienced Machinist to join their production team in Billingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional seeking a long-term position with the potential to secure a permanent contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machining equipment to manufacture high-quality components used across a range of heavy engineering industries. Working to engineering drawings and strict tolerances, you will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate machining equipment safely and efficiently to produce components to specification.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
Carry out precision machining to required tolerances and quality standards.
Use measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges to inspect finished products.
Operate overhead cranes to move materials and completed components safely.
Carry out weld dressing and finishing work where required.
Complete quality checks and record inspection results.
Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
Adhere to all company health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience operating machining equipment within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working within a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering environment.
Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments.
Overhead crane experience is desirable (certification preferred).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working shifts and overtime when required.
Good understanding of health and safety practices within an industrial environment.
