Description:
Experience:
* 5 years machining experience
* CNC and manual Lathe
* CNC and manual mill
Job Purpose / Objectives:
To machine parts to the required standard and to support other areas where needed
Job Specific Duties
* Machine parts to the required standard
* To record changes required to drawings to enable production information to be corrected and maintained accurately.
Support:
* Assist in other areas of the company such as Assembly when machining workload is low, as directed by Production Manager
* Train other members of staff on safe working with machines, as required
* Train other staff on effective use of machine processes as required
Cost and Efficiency:
* Identify and take actions when targets are not being met and waste is evident.
* Design with fit, form, and function, safety and cost in mind.
Lean CI:
* Maintain your work area in line with 5S
* Support the company continuous improvement activities and data capture; participate and encourage idea generation.
* Record such data as required to maintain visual management and drive improvement in the work area
Quality:
* Take no-go decisions and escalate where unsure.
* Make concessions where appropriate and ensure no repeats.
* Ensure all non-conformances are quarantined and investigated, problems contained and corrective actions achieved by working closely with the Quality team.
* Ensure Expo quality procedures are adhered to.
* Rework requirements are minimised.
Attitude: Be timely with excellent attendance, adhere to company policy and procedures, assist others and seek to improve in all aspects of work under direct control
