Aspired talent are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Machine Operative to join our busy manufacturing team in Accrington BB5.

This is a full-time position working within a fast-paced production environment. The role is primarily day shift, with the shift pattern moving to two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights when workload requires it.

Full training will be provided on the specific machinery and processes.

The Role

As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.

Complete regular manual handling, including wrapping, weighing and palletising finished products.

Accurately record production information using the company's computer systems.

Follow production schedules, work instructions and customer specifications.

Work effectively from production priority lists.

Carry out product checks and testing to ensure products remain within specification.

Meet required standards for safety, quality, productivity and waste.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Follow all company procedures and health and safety requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and workplace projects.

Work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by your supervisor or management.

About You

We are looking for someone who is dependable, conscientious and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment.
Essential

Previous machine operating experience is essential.

Experience working within a manufacturing, production or factory environment.

Good manual dexterity and the ability to carry out regular manual handling.

Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Flexibility to work both day and night shifts when required.

Reliable and committed approach to work.

Desirable

Experience in flexographic printing and/or extrusion.

Previous experience operating manufacturing or production machinery.

IT literacy and confidence using computer systems.

Experience working to customer specifications and production targets.

Shift Pattern & Pay

Day Shift

£13.90 per hour starting rate

£14.63 per hour once fully trained

Night Shift

£15.20 per hour starting rate

£15.93 per hour once fully trained

Working hours:

Days: 7:00am – 7:00pm

Nights: 7:00pm – 7:00am

The position is primarily day-based. However, due to production requirements, employees may be required to work a rotating pattern of two weeks on days followed by two weeks on nights.
