Description:
We are looking for a experienced Machine Operator to join a Global Client relocating to Newport.
you will be required to set-up & operate production machines / equipment / processes in a safe, efficient & effective manner with Engineering support. Ensuring product produced is to the set quality standard & manufactured at the set production rate.
Duties
* Run a range of production machines / processes to produce products to the quality standards required & achieve out-put standards set
* Apply best practice standards in all areas of H&S, quality produced, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) & data recording
* Demonstrate good house keeping
* Ensure PPE is maintained & used as prescribed
* Create & maintain accurate records relating to machine out-puts & down time.
* Ensure all paperwork including start-up check sheets are completed daily
* Actively support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & all assigned (Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) required
* Assist with Risk Assessments & all safety improvement activities
* Actively participate in all continuous improvement activities / initiatives & Kaisen events.
* Proactively identify & make recommendations for improvements
* Train other operators as required.
* Sharing experience, best practice, relaying all relevant knowledge & information with colleagues
* Carry out hand assembly work & general duties as required
* Any other duties as required by the Production Manager
Ideal candidate will have
* Understand & use of measuring equipment – ruler, scales etc.
* Time served machine operator
* Knowledge / experience of mechanical / electrical PLC & Pneumatic systems
* Experience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement techniques & tools 5s, Kaisen etc.
* Machine setting experience
* Experience of statistical process control (SPC)
Working hours:
8am - 4.30 (Monday - Thursday)
7am - 12pm ( Friday)
