Machine Fitter

Description:

We are currently recruiting for a machine fitter with mechanical engineering background based in Whitley Bridge (DN14)

Shifts:
Monday-Friday

Salary:
£20K-£30K based on experience

Requirements

Extensive experience working on lathes, mills, pillar drills, plasma cutters and welders (Stick, Mig and Tig)
Previous experience working as a machinist or fitter in a manufacturing environment or relevant trade.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems effectively.
Knowledge of different materials and their properties, particularly metals, alloys, and composites. Understanding how different materials respond to machining processes is essential.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and interpreting technical drawings.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changes in manufacturing processes.
Use basic math skills to measure, mark, and cut and machine metal accurately.
Inspect finished products for quality and ensure they meet specifications
Maintain a clean and organised work area
