Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children build confidence and make progress in their learning? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide valuable classroom support.

About the Role:

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with learning activities and help pupils develop their independence. Your experience and understanding of children's needs will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to their day-to-day learning and development.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning.

Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.

Help pupils access the curriculum and develop greater independence.

Support children with additional learning, social or emotional needs where appropriate.

Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.

Observe and record pupil progress, sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher.

Assist with classroom organisation and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Experience supporting children within a primary school setting.

A good understanding of children's learning and development.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, adaptable and supportive approach.

Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff and pupils.

A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
