LV Electrical Assembly Technician

Location: Braintree, Essex
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're looking for an experienced LV Electrical Assembly Technician to join a well-established electrical manufacturing business based in Braintree.

Working within a busy manufacturing workshop, you'll be responsible for assembling, wiring and testing low-voltage electrical distribution equipment, including both standard and custom-built units.

This role would suit someone with a background in electrical panel building, switchgear assembly or industrial electrical wiring who enjoys practical, hands-on engineering work.

The Role

Assemble and wire low-voltage electrical distribution equipment, including three-phase 400VAC systems.

Install and connect switchgear, circuit breakers, busbars, terminals and other electrical components.

Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings.

*

Prepare, route and terminate cables to a high standard.

*

Carry out electrical inspections, continuity checks and insulation resistance testing.

*

Identify wiring faults, assembly issues and opportunities to improve build quality.

What You'll Need

*

Proven experience building and wiring electrical panels or distribution equipment.

*

Good understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and components.

*

Confident reading electrical drawings and schematics.

*

Experience with cable preparation, crimping, termination and electrical assembly.

*

Practical knowledge of electrical testing and safe working procedures.

*

An electrical apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent qualification.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have worked with LV switchgear, electrical distribution boards, industrial control panels or bespoke electrical assemblies.
