Lunchtime Supervisor

About the Role

We are currently seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Lunchtime Supervisor to join a primary school in Lewisham.

This role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) during the lunchtime period. The successful candidate will help ensure pupils remain safe, happy, and supported throughout lunchtime, including on the playground and during personal care routines where required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime and playground activities.
Encourage positive social interaction and inclusive play.
Support children with ASD and SLD in managing sensory needs and emotional regulation.
Provide personal care support, including toileting and hygiene, where required.
Promote pupils' independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Help maintain a safe and positive lunchtime environment.
Follow individual care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safeguarding procedures.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEND.
Experience supporting children with ASD and SLD.
Confidence providing personal care support where required.
A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
An enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete the required checks.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 11:30am-1:30pm (10 hours per week), subject to confirmation.
