Secondary School - Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £90-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive SEN and pastoral team. This Colchester school is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential.

The school has continued to invest heavily in its SEN and student support provision, expanding intervention programmes, wellbeing support, and classroom resources to ensure students receive the tailored support they need throughout their secondary education.

Job Overview:
* This school caters for students aged 11-16.
* Full-time, Monday - Friday, Learning Support Assistant role.
* Support students across KS3-KS4 within lessons and intervention sessions.
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support student progress and wellbeing.
* Help students remain engaged, focused, and confident within the classroom environment.
* Build positive and trusting relationships with vulnerable students.
* Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
* Monitor and report student progress and wellbeing concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
* Contribute to creating a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment.

What we're looking for:
* Previous experience working with young people, SEN, SEMH, or behavioural support is desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
* Passion for supporting young people's learning, wellbeing, and development.
* Good behaviour management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
