Description:
Blue Water Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Logistics Manager to work on a new commercial construction project in Cardiff.
This position will be on a permanent basis.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the coordination of collections of waste, transportation to its in due skips, ensuring the proper segregation of the waste and manage their authorized disposal out of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Negotiate, agree and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, manufacturers and retailers.
* Plan and organise shipments, and transportation out of the site.
* Organize the labours appointed to support him in its duties.
* Plan and resolve issues regarding the waste management.
* Operate IT systems to manage timings, costs and stock levels.
* Report to the Project Manager.
* Work with procurement and commercial teams on product selection as required. Plan and analyse budgets and expenditures.
* Oversee logistics and transport services.
* Monitor stock and manage waste.
* Prepare paperwork for regulatory bodies.
* Maintain logs and records.
* Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and costs to optimise efficiency.
* Comply with legislation, regulations and ISO requirements.
Qualifications:
* Batchelors / Master’s Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.
* CSCS Card - Professionally Qualified Person (White) or Construction Manager (Black)
* 5 years’ experience in a similar role (Logistics Management within Construction/ Engineering industry).
* SMSTS
* Proven record of successful distribution and logistics management.
* Proficient in standard logistics software.
* Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
