Logistics Manager

Description:

Cherry Professional is recruiting a Logistics Manager for a successful, growing organisation operating within a distribution environment in South Nottingham.

This position is responsible for managing an outsourced Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partner and an internal transport function, ensuring inbound movements, depot distribution and final-mile delivery are completed safely, cost-effectively and in line with agreed service levels.

You’ll act as the key link between suppliers, internal depots/prep centres and external logistics partners, ensuring consistent delivery performance and clear operational control.

Key responsibilities:

Own day-to-day SLA / KPI management across the transport network (on-time performance, demand visibility, service levels)
Lead regular performance reviews with external providers, proactively mitigating risks and implementing corrective actions
Ensure compliance with contracts, commercial terms and SOPs
Manage inbound shipments and outbound delivery schedules, including oversight of documentation and import/customs processes
Drive continuous improvement (route optimisation, cost reduction, efficiency gains)
Oversee third-party warehousing/storage and inventory where applicable
Maintain compliance with H&S, duty/trade requirements, customs and transport legislationWhat we’re looking for
5+ years’ experience in logistics / supply chain / 3PL contract management
Strong track record performance-managing third-party providers and handling conflicting priorities
Process-led mindset with proven ability to implement reliable, scalable ways of working
Comfortable working with ERP systems, spreadsheets and performance metrics
Knowledge of ADR / transport regulations (advantageous)APPLY NOW!
