Location: Bishop's Stortford
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 - 17:00, Monday - Friday (1 hour lunch 12:00 - 13:00)
Starting Salary: £29,250 PA
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join an established, family run engineering business who is looking to recruit a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to support the smooth running of day-to-day warehouse and dispatch operations. This role is key to ensuring orders are processed accurately, dispatched on time, and supported by robust traceability and certification documentation.
Key responsibilities:
Assist with organising and coordinating day-to-day warehouse/logistics processes.
Manage carriers: dispatch planning, performance monitoring, and service/cost reviews.
Trial new carriers to ensure best service and value.
Receive, unpack and check incoming goods and supplies.
Book in deliveries onto the internal system and maintain product traceability where required.
Process batch traceability and certification documentation.
Support picking and packing products for dispatch.
Complete accuracy checks before packing for dispatch.
Raise dispatch notes on the internal system and prepare goods for collection by outgoing carriers.
Keep the warehouse and yard clean and tidy; ensure pallets/packaging are removed into the FEL (Front End Loader) bins.
Ensure the waste bin area around the FELs is clean and tidy.
Book waste collections as required.
Maintain a safe working environment, following all Health & Safety procedures.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
Proven experience in a warehouse/logistics environment.
Strong attention to detail and a "right first time" approach (especially for checks and documentation).
Confident using internal systems/ERP for goods-in, dispatch notes, and traceability records.
Good communication skills and ability to liaise with carriers and internal teams.
Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise in a busy operation.
Desirable:
Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
Experience managing traceability/batch documentation and certification paperwork.
