Are you experienced within the Logistics and Distribution Sector, specifically Distribution and Outbound Shipments? My client is looking for a Logistics Manager who can specialise in supplier management and contract negotiation as well as controlling inbound deliveries for a group of warehouses. You will have worked within Logistics and Distribution and be able to provide your expertise on business processes to ensure the smooth running of the logistics operation. Freight forwarding experience would also be beneficial although this will only make up 5% of the role.
The role is fully remote at present (training is two days a week in Leeds for the first 6 weeks) but you must live within a commutable distance to Leeds as you may need to pop in to the Warehouse at short notice.
Salary: £40,000 plus bonus
Duties:
Being the main contact for supplier liaison eg DPD, UPS for discussions on service levels and outbound shipments
Focusing on processes within freight and transport management within the EMEA area
Monitoring supplier KPIs
Document reconciliation
Attending quarterly supplier meetings
Controlling inbound deliveries for the warehouses
Keeping insurances up to date
Keeping all compliance and legal documents up to date
Working on customer portals to ensure SLAs are being met
Preparing customer reportingThis role is a real relationship building role - you will work with suppliers and customers and will have worked within a fast moving logistics environment and have experience of freight forwarding although this is only a small part of the role.
