Description:
One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Linux/OpenSource Application Admin. This is a temporary contract for 3 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
The successful post holder will be passionate about open-source software, Linux, security, and the developer experience. This role demands a high degree of technical skill with Linux operating systems and open-source applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows based operating systems and related software.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux and Windows based infrastructure.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux and Windows based solutions to meet business needs.
* Implement and maintain security measures to protect Windows/Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
* Assist with supporting mix of virtual and physical servers in remote locations and offices.
* Provide support for Storage Area Network (SAN) components.
* Assist with maintaining/issuing server and SSL certificates.
* Set up and optimize certificate authorities.
* Work with hardware vendors to provide support for issues, upgrades, and maintenance.
* Provide support, maintenance, security and planning for multiple Active Directory domains.
