Purpose of Role:
To optimise line performance by meeting the following targets
a. Change over times of equipment
b. Quality of change over
c. Reduction in waste generated on changeovers
d. Reduction in date code issues through set up and cleaning
e. Maintenance of change over parts
f. Carry out start up safety checks, functional test of all safety circuits.
g. Carry out relevant PPM’s when issued and completed within specified time.
h. Ensure the recording of downtime and lost time is completed accurately prior to leaving your shift.

Principal Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring that the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are maintained and improved.
• To facilitate the stripping down of machines to allow deep cleans to be carried as set down in cleaning sheets.
• Ensure that effective cleaning has been carried out between products and prior to re-assembly.
• To assist in the writing up a SOP for each machine on their line and to ensure operators are trained and signed off on each SOP. Engineering Manager to assist in this task.
• Responsible for supporting the engineering function in routine preventative maintenance tasks.
• In relation to change parts, to aid the team leader to ensure the hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, practises and equipment are continually re-evaluated in line with best practise, customer guidelines.
• Ensure effective communication with regards line proofing and plant hygiene standards across and between shifts within the teams to ensure optimum performance is achieved.
• Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions such as; production, engineering, technical and NPD.
• To respond to audit reports, corrective action summaries to ensure work is carried out to an agreed timescale and manner.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• To work as part of the team and be a contributor, where possible, to suggest, support and innovate new ideas.
• To work in an effective manner by performing duties in such a way that may add value to the product, operation or company.
• To work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way that will not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property or affect the success of the team of which one is a member.
• To contribute to health and safety initiatives such as ongoing risk assessment and investigations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES PERSONAL PERFORMANCE
• To ensure line performance is optimised.
• To communicate all issues to Team leader/ Shift Production Manager.
• Services breakdown to notify Engineering Manager immediately.
• Engineering Manager must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more
