Description:
Acting on behalf of my client a nationwide commercial construction consultancy, Workforce On Demand require an experienced slinger / banksman / woman / lifting operation supervisor for an immediate start working on a new hotel project under construction within the centre of York.
Responsibilities:
- Directing and guiding the movement of vehicles and machinery
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and machinery
- Communicating with drivers and equipment operators to coordinate movements
- Using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices to relay instructions
- Monitoring the surrounding area for potential hazards and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment
- Keeping accurate records of vehicle and equipment movements
Plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting operation, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop method statements for lifting activities, taking into account site-specific conditions and requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, site managers, and lifting teams to develop lift plans and schedules that meet project objectives and safety standards.
- Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure that it is properly inspected, maintained, and operated by competent personnel.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to crane operators, riggers, and other lifting personnel, ensuring that lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Monitor lifting activities closely to identify and address any potential hazards or issues, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting activities, including lift plans, risk assessments, equipment inspections, and personnel certifications.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of lifting equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Slinger / Banksman / lifting operation supervisor
- Knowledge of construction site operations and safety procedures
- Familiarity with hand signals used for directing vehicles and machinery
- Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, operators, and other team members
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Requirements:
* Must have a valid Blue CPCS Slinger / Banksman card - ticket
* Must have a valid Blue CPCS (A62) Crane Supervisor card - ticket
Duration: 20 weeks
Competitive hourly rate.
Can pay CIS (UTR Number required) or PAYE
