Licensing & Parking Manager

Description:

Lynx Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Licensing & Parking Manager to provide interim management support within a local authority.

This is initially a 3-month assignment, and candidates with strong management experience in either Licensing OR Parking will be considered. Experience across both areas is not essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing and supporting staff within the service
• Handling complex operational situations and using sound judgement to advise colleagues
• Overseeing service delivery, workloads and competing priorities
• Developing positive and collaborative relationships with public and private sector organisations, community/customer groups and other stakeholders
• Identifying and driving improvements in service delivery
• Ensuring appropriate financial regulations, procedures and practices are applied effectively at an operational level
• Providing confident leadership and professional advice across the service

Essential requirements:

• Management experience within Licensing and/or Parking
• Experience managing staff and dealing with complex situations
• Ability to exercise clear judgement and provide advice and direction to others
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and experience developing collaborative external relationships
• Detailed understanding of Financial Regulations, procedures and practices, including their practical application within an operational environment
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) and/or membership of a relevant professional body

Previous local authority experience would be particularly beneficial.

Contract: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
