Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners with Special Educational Needs? Dunbar Education, a leading recruitment agency in the education sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team in Bedford.

About the School: Our client is a SEN school catering to students aged 11-18 of all genders, primarily focusing on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) profiles.

Position Details:

Location: Bedford
Start Date: September
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Non-negotiable)
DBS Requirement: Must be on the update serviceKey Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the class teacher in planning and implementing work programmes for individuals, groups, and the whole class to promote effective teaching and learning.
Supervise a whole class and undertake pre-planned activities during the absence of a class teacher.
Support teachers in delivering tailored learning activities, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the development and growth of students with SEN.
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other stakeholders as necessary.
Administer and support with assessments, both formal and informal, to gauge student progress and inform teaching strategies.
Provide personal care and support as required for students with additional needs.Additional SEMH Responsibilities:

Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students in developing social and emotional skills, providing guidance and encouragement as needed.
Utilise de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary to address challenging behaviour.
Collaborate with the SENCO and external agencies to develop and implement behaviour support plans tailored to individual student needs.Requirements:

Level 3 SEN TA qualification
Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
Minimum 6 months of experience working in a UK SEN setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and under supervision.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.Why Join Us:
