Early Years Practitioner – Level 3
Location: Kingston, Southwest London
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: £24,000 – £25,500 pro rata, dependent on experience
Hours: Part-time, 12:30pm – 6:00pm, 27.5 hours per week
Contract: All year round, 52 weeks per year

Setting: Independent Girls’ Preparatory School
We are delighted to be recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner to join the nursery team at an outstanding independent girls’ preparatory school in Kingston.
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play an important role in supporting the learning, development and care of children within the pre-school. You will work closely with the teaching team to provide engaging learning experiences and ensure that every child feels safe, valued and supported.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
Building warm, positive and nurturing relationships with children
Supporting children through play-based learning and planned activities
Observing, assessing and recording children’s progress across the EYFS
Contributing to learning journals, observations and next steps
Supporting children with additional needs and promoting inclusive practice
Ensuring children’s health, safety and wellbeing at all times
Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider nursery team
Communicating positively with parents and carers
Supporting the preparation of learning resources and classroom displaysAbout You

Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education or holds another full and relevant Level 3 EYFS qualification
Experienced working with children in an early year setting, ideally with 3-year-olds
Knowledgeable about the EYFS statutory framework
Warm, caring and genuinely passionate about working with young children
A confident communicator who can build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team Why Horizon Teachers
