Description:

Knights Solicitors is an established and highly regarded law firm based in Tunbridge Wells, with a strong heritage in litigation dating back to 1994.

Over the years, we have continued to build on our specialist expertise, expanding the range of legal matters in which we act for clients to cover both contentious and non-contentious work.

We pride ourselves on combining in-depth legal knowledge with a personal, approachable service. We take the time to understand our clients' needs, providing clear, practical advice and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes.

At Knights, we value professionalism, integrity and building lasting relationships, both with our clients and within our team. We are committed to maintaining the high standards and reputation that have been central to the firm since its establishment.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated junior legal professional to support our Litigation Department across civil, regulatory and criminal matters. Open to junior or newly qualified solicitors, paralegals, legal assistants and candidates at the very start of their career, the role offers practical experience in case preparation, research, client care and file management as well as law firm administration.

Key responsibilities

· Research legal and practical issues; review documents; and prepare summaries, hearing bundles and meeting notes.

· Draft and type correspondence and legal documents, including digital dictation and audio typing.

· Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, solicitors and third parties, and assist with onboarding procedures and day to day case work.

· Maintain accurate electronic and physical files and case-management records.

· Provide general departmental and office administration including answering incoming telephone calls, providing support with our billing and credit control and organising postal / courier services.

About you

· Genuine interest in civil litigation, regulatory law and criminal law and enthusiasm for developing a legal career.

· Strong communication, organisation, time management and attention to detail.

· A professional, approachable and discreet manner, with a commitment to client care and confidentiality.

· Ability to manage priorities, work under pressure with a ‘can-do’ attitude and contribute independently and within a small but friendly team.

· Good IT skills, confidence with electronic documents and case-management systems, and a proactive approach to working life generally.

Qualifications and experience

Applications are welcome from junior or newly qualified solicitors, paralegals, legal assistants, other legal support professionals and university leavers. A law degree, relevant qualification or legal experience is advantageous but not essential. Civil litigation, criminal law, court preparation or case-management experience is beneficial, but attitude, organisational ability and commitment to personal progression are equally important.

What we offer

· Varied civil litigation, regulatory law and criminal law work with practical experience in research, case preparation and client care.

· Support from experienced legal professionals in a collaborative team.

· Salary based on experience, qualifications and suitability
