We have a new opportunity available for a Legal Assistant / Secretary, based in Ipswich, offering a salary up to £26’000.

As the Legal Assistant / Secretary, you will be working within the Residential Property team and they are looking for someone with Legal Assistant or Legal Secretarial experience, which does not need to be within property, it can be within any field of law.

Your day-to-day duties as the Legal Assistant / Secretary will include producing and amending documents with speed and accuracy, to proof-read all work, checking for spelling and grammar and to proactively work with the fee earners to ensure relevant documentation is produced to meet clients’ expectations and deadlines. In addition, you will manage diaries of allocated fee earners in Microsoft Outlook, arranging appointments, meetings, restaurants, and conferences, and sending and responding to invites. Other duties include processing expense claims, payment requisition forms and returned advances. Accurately maintain and update client and other relevant contact details on our client database, process all forms including new client form, new matter form, money laundering form, training course booking forms etc. Ensure that all electronic filing and paper-based filing is up to date and maintained at regular intervals, prepare narratives and bills, keep billing files up to date and to carry out photocopying and scanning as required.

To be considered for this opportunity as the Legal Assistant / Secretary you will need…
To live in Ipswich, or the surrounding areas, with a maximum 30-minute commute.
Legal Assistant or Legal Secretarial experience.
To have a typing speed of 50 words per minute
Excellent spelling, punctuation, written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
To be a friendly and strong team player.
Experience as a Legal Assistant or a Legal Secretary within Residential Property would be beneficial, but this is not essential.
