About The Role
We are seeking to appoint a number of passionate, caring and dynamic School Support Workers with enthusiasm for working with pupils with additional learning needs. Experience or demonstrable commitment to working with pupils who have additional learning needs is essential.

We have developed a core and cluster model - We offer day 38 or 52-week placements for pupils aged 3-19 years with physical and sensory disabilities, complex needs such as cerebral palsy, and epilepsy and a wide range of additional learning needs. We specialise in supporting children and young people who have emotional and behavioural needs, autistic spectrum conditions, and physical / learning disabilities with access to education opportunities being at the core of our work.
 
Job Purpose
Working with children and young people with complex health needs in an all-purpose-built building, supporting them in all aspects of personal care, independent living, and delivering a high-quality personalised service.
 
Key Responsibilities

To support our young people to achieve positive outcomes and to enable them to participate in the local community. This may include maintaining social networks and supporting the individual to access education, employment, or social activity such as visits to clubs, pubs, restaurants, shops, etc.
To enable our young people to pursue their hobbies and interests, supporting them on a one-to-one basis or in group-based activities, alone or with other Salutem staff and volunteers if required.
To maintain records for each individual and to provide support with creating and regularly updating individuals’ care and support plans so they remain meaningful and accessible.
To involve and consult with the individual regarding any risk assessments that affect their choices and lifestyle and ensure risk assessments promote an active and meaningful life that presents challenges.
To safeguard the health, well-being, and safety of our young people and if concerns arise, to immediately report these concerns in line with Salutem policies and procedures.
To provide personal care & support per the individual’s needs and preferences as stated in their plans, in a manner that always demonstrates dignity and respect. This may involve all aspects of intimate personal care. You may be required to undertake delegated healthcare tasks, including medication administration.
To contribute towards capacity assessments and best interest decisions.
To provide support that ensures individuals’ spiritual, cultural, and religious choices are met and that they can participate in and access community facilities
