Teaching Assistant – Every Small Win Matters

Location: West Sussex
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available
Pay: £92.63 - £99.45 per day

Not Every Success Comes with Applause.

Sometimes success is a student attending their first full lesson. Sometimes it's a positive conversation. Sometimes it's simply helping a young person believe in themselves again.

Supply Desk is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of educational settings throughout West Sussex, supporting students who may require additional help with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, or engagement in education.

Some placements may be within specialist provisions or alternative learning environments, where adaptability, resilience, and positive relationship-building are key.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Encouraging engagement and participation in learning
Promoting positive behaviour and confidence
Assisting teaching staff with classroom activities
Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or young people is desirable
Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Support Work, Care, Coaching, or Mentoring experience welcomed
Strong communication skills
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
A genuine passion for making a difference

Why Join Supply Desk?

Weekly PAYE pay
Access to CPD and professional development
Flexible opportunities across West Sussex
Dedicated consultant support
Refer-a-Friend bonus of up to £150
Some of the settings can be challenging, but they are also some of the most rewarding environments in education. The impact you make could stay with a young person long after they leave the classroom.
