Description:
We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This position requires a proactive, patient, and empathetic individual who is committed to making a positive impact in students' lives. This role is within a SEN school and the children will display challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
Participate in professional development and training related to SEMH.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.Monday - Friday
