September startAcademics are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis with a pupil in a Reception class who has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) for the new academic year. This rewarding role is based at a welcoming primary school in Stoke-on-Trent and will be reviewed on a term by term basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support to a child with an EHCP, ensuring his individual needs are met effectively.
Assist in implementing the strategies and interventions outlined in the child's EHCP.
Support the child in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting the child's social and emotional development.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to monitor and report on the child's progress.
Adapt learning materials and resources to suit the child's needs.
Encourage independence and confidence in the child's learning journey.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, preferably within an early years or primary setting.
A good understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
