Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a background in SEMH and a passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning?

We are working with a specialist secondary setting in Enfield seeking dedicated and resilient LSAs to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships, manage challenging behaviour and help pupils re-engage with education.

The Role

Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation and difficulties engaging in lessons.

Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage participation, confidence and independence.

Implement behaviour management strategies and support pupils in regulating their emotions.

Work closely with teachers and the wider team to maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Encourage positive choices, social development and progress both academically and emotionally.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs is essential.

Experience working with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation and disengaged learners.

A calm, patient and resilient approach, particularly in challenging situations.

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

The ability to remain consistent and professional while providing clear boundaries.

A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed, regardless of the challenges they face.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

What We Offer

Competitive daily pay of £95-£115, paid through PAYE.

The opportunity to gain further experience in a specialist SEMH setting.

Potential for long-term employment.

Ongoing support from a dedicated SEND recruitment consultant.

The chance to make a genuine difference to young people who need the right support to succeed.
