In the Learning Support Assistant role you will be:
Providing personalised support to learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them to engage positively with their education and college life
Working alongside tutors and specialist support staff to create an inclusive, supportive and encouraging learning environment
Supporting learners to develop independence, confidence and resilience by adapting support to meet their individual needs
Assisting with learning activities, including adapting materials, supporting assessments and helping learners achieve their goals
Promoting learner wellbeing, inclusion and positive behaviour while maintaining accurate and confidential records
To be successful, you will need:
Experience supporting learners in an educational, training or vocational setting, including those with ALN
Qualifications within the relevant field, including Supporting Learners with ALN, with a willingness to work towards further development where required
Understanding of person-centred approaches and inclusive learning practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, adaptable and supportive approach
Ability to build positive relationships with learners, tutors and wider support teams
Ability to speak Welsh (conversational)
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role
This is a temporary position starting at the end of August / beginning of September (initially for the first term), working 19.5 hours per week. You’ll be based in Rhyl, starting on an hourly rate of £13.45 per hour plus benefits.
